Collaborate on your files

Design, discuss, and polish as a team

Written by Karen

Jitter files are built for working together: you can invite teammates to your workspace, share feedback with comments directly on the canvas, and keep your animation projects organized in one place. Everyone in your workspace always sees the latest version of a file, with no exporting or re-sharing needed.

Invite teammates

  1. In the My Files page, select your workspace and click the Invite button.

  2. Enter your teammate’s email address

  3. Choose their role: Workspace owner or Member

  4. Click Send invites

Your teammate will receive an email invitation to join the workspace. If they don’t already have a Jitter account, they’ll be prompted to create one.

Once they accept the invitation, they’ll be able to access shared files and collaborate with the rest of the team.

Comments

You can use comments to share feedback, ask questions, and discuss changes directly on your file.

  1. In the Toolbar, click the Comment icon

  2. Click anywhere on the canvas

  3. Type your comment and press Enter to post it

💡 Learn about comments and mentions in the Comments in Jitter article.

Folders

Folders help keep your workspace organized by grouping related files together.

✏️ Folders are currently available for workspaces on a paid plan.

Create a folder

  1. In the File list sidebar, select the workspace where you want to create the folder

  2. Click + New folder

  3. Give it a name

  4. Hit enter to create it

Move files into a folder

There are two ways to move your files into a folder.

To move a single file:

  1. Right-click on the file

  2. Press Move to…

  3. Select the new folder

To organize a group of files:

  1. Hold ⇧ Shift

  2. Click each of the files you want

  3. Use the bottom toolbar to select:

    1. Move to folder

    2. Duplicate

    3. Delete

See who's editing

When you open a file, you'll see anyone else currently editing it:

  • Avatar stack: your teammates' avatars appear in the toolbar at the top of the Editor

  • Live cursors: their cursors move on the canvas in real time

  • Live selection: when a teammate selects a layer on the canvas or an animation in the timeline, you'll see their selection highlighted

If you lose your internet connection, you can keep working — your changes sync automatically when you reconnect.

Team libraries

🚧 Coming soon

Team libraries will enable workspaces to share reusable assets such as components, styles, and motion presets across files, making it easier to stay consistent and speed up production.
