Editing text layers on your file or from a template

There are the two ways to select and edit text in Jitter.

  • Select the text layer in the Layer list, and press Enter.

  • Double-click directly on the text in the canvas.

When you select a text layer and open the Design tab, you’ll see properties that control how your text looks and behaves.

Property

What it does

Alignment

Controls how your text is positioned (left, center, or right alignment) within its layer

Layout

Adjusts your text position, size, and angle

Text

Changes the design qualities of the text including font, style, size, spacing, etc.

Opacity

Changes the transparency of the text

Fill

Sets the color inside your text

Stroke

Adds an outline around the text with a particular size and color

Shadow

Configures a shadow behind the text

Blur

Softens the text

💡 Text editing is only possible on actual text layers (marked by the T icon).

Some popular templates (like Stretch) use SVG layers instead of text to represent letters. To edit these layers, import or create your own custom shapes to replace them instead.
